A new error estimate on uniform norm of Schwarz algorithm for elliptic quasi-variational inequalities with nonlinear source terms
The Schwarz algorithm for a class of elliptic quasi-variational inequalities with nonlinear source terms is studied in this work. The authors prove a new error estimate in uniform norm, making use of a stability property of the discrete solution. The domain is split into two sub-domains with overlapping non-matching grids. This approach combines the geometrical convergence of solutions and the ...
متن کاملL∞-error Estimate for a Noncoercive System of Elliptic Quasi-variational Inequalities: a Simple Proof
In this paper we provide a simple proof to derive L∞-error estimate for a noncoercive system of quasi-variational inequalities related to the management of energy production. The key idea is a discrete L∞-stability property owned by the corresponding coercive problem.
متن کاملL∞-error Estimates for a Class of Semilinear Elliptic Variational Inequalities and Quasi-variational Inequalities
This paper deals with the finite element approximation of a class of variational inequalities (VI) and quasi-variational inequalities (QVI) with the right-hand side depending upon the solution. We prove that the approximation is optimally accurate in L∞ combining the Banach fixed point theorem with the standard uniform error estimates in linear VIs and QVIs. We also prove that this approach ext...
متن کاملSchwarz Method for Variational Inequalities Related to Ergodic Control Problems
In this paper, we study variational inequalities related to ergodic control problems studied by M. Boulbrachène and H. Sissaoui [11, 1996], where the "discount factor" (i.e., the zero order term) is set to 0, we use an overlapping Schwarz method on nomatching grid which consists in decomposing the domain in two subdomains. For α ∈ ]0.1[ we provide the discretization on each subdomain converges ...
